Towels, bed Linen, outdoor towels and throws and dressing gowns are provided.

The cabin is a few minutes walk from the car parking, up a few gravel steps and along a woodland path. There is low level lighting at night.

There is a two burner hob, convection microwave with grill, kettle, toaster, Opal coffee machine, milk frother, cafetiere and tea pot. There is a selection of pots, pans and cooking utensils.

Outdoor there is a fire pit, round griddle and long griddle and small cloche for the firepit cooking, utensils. A small sink at the side of the cabin for outdoor washing of the outdoor cooking utensils.

I can offer late check out on Sundays only at the moment this can be added when you book online. If you drop an email to hello@heatherandstone.co.uk when you book I may be able to offer a later check out other days dependent on bookings.

Black Rhadley is a secluded, private cabin for two on the edge of a small woodland in the Shropshire Hills. It feels wonderfully tucked away, with open landscape, wildlife and walking trails straight from the door.

I live in a cottage a short walk away, so help is nearby if you need it, but your privacy is very important and you’ll be left completely undisturbed during your stay. We communicate by WhatsApp or text when needed.

A public walking trail passes nearby, so you may occasionally see a walker passing through the landscape, but there are no other guest cabins or shared guest spaces here.

Check in and out is contactless, using a lockbox. The lockbox code will be sent via the booking check-in email on the day of check in.

Its a good idea to bring clothing suitable for being out in nature, wellies, walking boots, waterproof coat, warm coat in colder months for exploring the unique area.

Useful to bring slippers or flip flops for the fire pit area and walking to and from the cabin to the bath.

Black Rhadley is fully heated and self-contained, with everything you need for a comfortable stay for two.

There’s a cosy sleeping nook with a king-size bed, a spacious bathroom with a generous rainfall shower, basin and full flushing toilet no composting loo and a well-equipped kitchen with hob, convection microwave, small dishwasher, sink and breakfast bar. There’s also a separate dining area and comfortable space for lounging.

For storage, there’s a large drawer beneath the bed, along with hooks and hangers for clothing. A hairdryer and mirror are also provided.

The cabin has a selection of books and games and binoculars for bird spotting the red kites flying over or the woodpeckers in the trees.

There is a seating area outside with a fire pit to soak up the atmosphere and enjoying the outdoors. The wood fired bath for woodland bathing and star gazing! We recommend walking across the Stiperstones and taking in the sunset views from Nipstone Rock. Maps and walking route guides in the cabin.

There is no Wifi at the cabin, the stay is all about digitally disconnecting to reconnect with nature, there is phone signal for most networks.

The nearest train stations are Craven Arms, Shrewsbury and Church Stretton which are within 40 minute taxi ride away. Shrewsbury has a bus connection to the Stiperstones Village, we are then a five minute taxi ride away or a 45 minute walk.

There is designated parking, which is lit up, sign posted at the top of the driveway.

Access to the cabin is through a black gate and up the steps.

We have a two night minimum stay at all times. This may be changed to a three night minimum stay at weekends in the future, any changes and updates will be advertised on social media.

The wood fired bath is available all year round, however the water will take longer to heat in lower winter temperatures.

Fires need to be fed/managed and not left unattended, the bath water can take up to 1 - 2 hours to heat.

We supply a complementary box of kiln dried wood and kindling/fire starters and matches.

We do reserve the right to ask guests not to use fires in very hot or windy weather. The wood around the woodland is not suitable for burning, the wood piles are for nature and to improve the biodiversity of the site and can damage the stove box in the bath.

Shrewsbury is within a thirty minute drive with great attractions and Ludlow is a forty five minute drive. There are small villages and town closer such as Church Stretton, Montgomery, Bishops Castle as well as farm shops and places to visit.

Yes. Although Black Rhadley feels wonderfully tucked away, there are several country pubs and places to eat within around a 20-minute drive.

Nearby options include The Nags Head at Pontesbury, The Bridges at Ratlinghope, The Lowfield Inn at Marton, The Castle in Bishop’s Castle, The Bottle & Glass at Picklescott, The Powis Arms at Lydbury North and The Stiperstones Inn.

We recommend checking current opening times and booking ahead where possible, particularly for evening meals and weekends.

There are also plenty more places to explore a little further afield in Bishop’s Castle, Montgomery, Shrewsbury and Ludlow.

Yes. A small welcome basket will be waiting when you arrive, with a selection of local items that may vary depending on season and availability.

We provide fresh milk, a selection of Pukka teas, sugar and Roar Coffee compostable pods, along with a few useful cooking essentials including olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper and a selection of herbs and spices.

Black Rhadley is fully self-catering, so you can bring your favourite things to cook, while some of the basics are already taken care of.

For general questions, I’m available by WhatsApp between 10am and 8pm. I live a short walk from the cabin, so if there is an urgent issue with Black Rhadley outside these hours, emergency contact details are provided for guests.

For any medical, fire or other personal emergency, always call 999 first, then contact me using the details provided at the cabin.

Black Rhadley is designed and booked exclusively for a maximum of two adults. To protect the privacy, tranquillity and nature of the site, we don’t permit additional visitors, gatherings or events during your stay.

Only the two registered guests may use the cabin and its grounds. Any unauthorised visitors will be asked to leave.
